Mites Division

The mission of the West Hartford Girls Soccer Club is to make the sport of Soccer attractive and available to West Hartford girls between the ages of 6 and 19 for training, recreation, and competitive purposes.

Mites Division is for girls born between 1/1/01 and 12/31/02

Team Size:

Team size averages 14-16 players per team.

The Game:

Mites Division plays on a smaller soccer field. The games is played with teams of 8 vs. 8.

This optimizes the amount of ball 'touches' each player gets. It is designed to familize players with the game of soccer, and teambuildling. Each quarter is 15 minutes.

Time Commitment:

There is one practice per week for one hour. There is one game per weekend.

The Season:

The soccer season is 8-10 weeks long.

Spring: Practices usually begin during the first week of May and the season is over by the end of June.

Fall: Practices usually begin during the last week of August and the Season is over by the end of October.

Size 3 soccer ball, shin guards, cleats, water bottle
